While diplomatic contacts between Rwanda and Lebanon predate 2017, formal diplomatic relations were established in April 2017 when the first Rwandan Ambassador to the Republic of Lebanon presented his letters of Credence to His Excellency General Michel Aoun, the President of the Republic of Lebanon.
Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Rwanda and Lebanon, a number of consultations are on-going and several bilateral agreements and Memoranda of Understanding are being discussed at the Embassy and Ministrial levels with the objective of creating the necessary legal frameworks for across different sectors.
